Dispute Resolution Process

Our dispute resolution process ensures fair and timely handling of any issues that may arise during a transaction between contractors and businesses.

Dispute Initiation

A dispute is initiated when the contractor or business raises a concern about the deliverables or payment. The concerned party can mark the transaction as "Disputed" in their dashboard, which officially starts the dispute process.

Negotiation Period

The first stage is a 14-day negotiation period where both parties can attempt to resolve the dispute independently. Reminder notifications are sent as the end of the negotiation period approaches.

Arbitration Commencement Period

If the dispute is not resolved within the initial 14 days, the process moves to a second 14-day period dedicated to arbitration commencement. During this time, both parties are required to start the arbitration process with a third-party arbitrator. The available arbitration services include the American Arbitration Association (AAA), JAMS Arbitration, and net-ARB.com.

If the dispute remains unresolved after the negotiation and arbitration commencement periods, the selected arbitrator will handle the dispute resolution process. The arbitration process ensures that both parties have a fair opportunity to present their case.

Contractor Payments’ Role

Throughout the dispute process, Contractor Payments acts as a neutral third party. If no resolution or arbitration is initiated within the specified periods, we may terminate the transaction and refund the appropriate party, deducting any applicable fees.

Third-Party Arbitrators

The arbitration process will be facilitated by arbitrators from:

  • American Arbitration Association (AAA)
  • net-ARB.com
  • JAMS Arbitration

It is up to the parties involved to research and select the most appropriate arbitrator. Both parties are responsible for the arbitration expenses and fees.
